Lorraine Treadwell, Rick Boissonneau, and Schuarah Sykes are original east coast Dark Shadows fans who attended and participated in many Dark Shadows Festivals and Collins Association events. In the course of attending the Festivals, they became good friends and have remained so for over 30 years. The irrepressible Jimmy Hutcheson is a stalwart Dark Shadows fan from Texas who wrote fan fiction and articles for DS fanzines such as Inside the Old House and The World of Dark Shadows. A regular attendee at Dark Shadows Festivals, Seaview Terrace parties, and pop culture events, Jimmy developed friendships with the likes of Lara Parker (Angelique from Dark Shadows) and Jonathan Harris (Dr. Zachary Smith from Lost in Space). In this episode, Jimmy shares some of his fandom memories and reads his fascinating DS fanfic story, ‘An Encounter’, originally published in Inside the Old House issue 44, November/December 1993. On Friday July 5th and Saturday July 6th 2024, Dark Shadows fans and cast members gathered in Los Angeles at the Burbank Airport Marriott Hotel for the Dark Shadows Remembrance Weekend. Highlights included the celebration of life for Lara Parker and the centenary celebration of Jonathan Frid. Originally from Bangor, Maine, Alan talks about his childhood memories of DS, theatrical inspirations, and discusses the research that has gone into the subjects featured on Collinsport After Dark. Topics discussed in this episode include: how Alan researched gum card photos and music cues, a chat about various props used in the series, teen magazines, Alan’s favorite characters and storylines, and more. This episode starts with some words in honor of Marcy Robin, editor/publisher of ‘Shadowgram’, who passed away on December 22, 2023. Kathleen Resch, a truly instrumental figure in the history of Dark Shadows fandom, visits Terror at Collinwood to discuss the genesis, development, and growth of the post-1971 DS fan community. Kathy was the creator/publisher behind the long-running flagship DS fanzine, The World of Dark Shadows. She also published the beloved Dark Shadows Concordances and was co-writer on official publications such as The Dark Shadows Companion. In addition, Kathy was one of the core founders and organizers behind the celebrated Dark Shadows Festivals.
